For more than 20 years, I have dedicated my life to serving and protecting Alaskans through law enforcement. I have walked the same streets as the officers I now seek to represent. I have answered the calls, made difficult decisions, supported victims, and stood beside the brave men and women who put their lives on the line every day.
As a former Chief of Police, investigator, and firearms safety instructor, I understand the challenges facing law enforcement in Alaska. Public safety is not just a policy issue—it is the foundation that allows families, businesses, and communities to thrive.
As your State Representative, I will Back the Badge by standing with those who protect and serve.
My Commitment to Alaska Law Enforcement
Support the Men and Women Who Serve
- Advocate for policies that respect and support law enforcement officers and first responders.
- Support competitive wages, benefits, and resources that help agencies recruit and retain qualified personnel.
- Recognize the sacrifices made by officers and their families.
- Support appropriate funding for law enforcement training, equipment, technology, and resources.
- Ensure agencies—especially those serving rural Alaska—have the support necessary to respond effectively.
- Promote continued professional development and career advancement opportunities.
- Support laws that hold violent and repeat offenders accountable.
- Stand with victims of crime and ensure their voices are heard.
- Promote policies that balance public safety, due process, and constitutional protections.
- Oppose efforts that make communities less safe or limit the ability of law enforcement to do their jobs.
- Defend the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding Alaskans.
- Promote responsible firearms ownership through education and training.
- Protect the constitutional freedoms that make Alaska unique.
- Advocate for improved mental health resources, peer support, and wellness programs for law enforcement and first responders.
- Recognize the physical and emotional demands placed on those who serve.
- Support efforts that help officers and their families succeed both on and off duty.
- Encourage collaboration between law enforcement, communities, schools, local governments, and public safety organizations.
- Support prevention programs that address issues before they become crimes.
- Promote community trust through transparency, professionalism, and service.
I have spent my career serving others. I know what it means to carry the responsibility of protecting a community, and I know what our law enforcement professionals need to succeed.
Alaska deserves representatives who understand public safety from experience—not just from a policy briefing.
I will bring my law enforcement background, leadership experience, and commitment to service to Juneau and remain a strong voice for safe communities, constitutional freedoms, and the men and women who protect them.
